We offer a dynamic opportunity for highly qualified, self-motivated K-12 teachers to write content for computer-based courses as part of a supplemental K-12 online education program. Curriculum design and objects will be provided. Some existing paper-based content may be available for reuse in the online product; some content must be created from scratch. Position requires creativity, strong US English writing skills at grade level, a good understanding of what works when teaching grade/age appropriate concepts to students, and teaching degree or credentials that give you expertise in one or more of the following subjects:
Academic Reading/Language Arts: Grades 10-12
Elementary Mathematics: Grades K-8
Algebra/Geometry/Integrated Math: Grades 9-12
Academic Writing: Grades 2-3, Grades 4-5, Grades 6-8, Grades 9+
Academic Study Skills: Grades 4-6, Grades 6-9, Grades 9-11, Grades 11-College
Qualified applicants will be asked to take a writing/editing test and submit a writing sample. Candidates must be proficient in computer-based word processing and supply their own computer and high speed internet connection.
Job Functions:
1. Write effective content and assessments that map to the identified learning objectives and their expected learning outcome.
2. Use literary skills and teaching experience to develop original examples, themes, ideas, questions, etc.
3. Use creativity to visualize concepts, provide direction for graphic search and insert graphics within the content, as needed.
4. Write in a manner that is relevant and grade appropriate.
5. Exercise self-discipline, time management, organization skills and deliver to strict and tight deadlines.
6. Follow processes and adhere to curriculum guidelines, standards and best practices, as specified.
7. Use computer and internet based tools (proprietary editing tool and templates to be provided) in the development process.
8. Submit course content in the required and expected format.
9. Edit, proofread and validate the accuracy of work.
10. Rewrite and revise work following feedback, as necessary.
11. Communicate status and provide updates, as required.
12. Perform other tasks, as assigned.
Job Qualifications
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Mathematics, English, or Literature with teaching credentials for relevant subject matter and grade level
• 5 or more years relevant subject and grade level teaching or tutoring experience preferred
• Experience writing curriculum, examples, class exercises, tests, study aids, etc.
• Experience in working with computers, word processing tools and the internet
• Experience in computer or web based courses helpful

1. Excellent US English writing skills (proper sentence structure, syntax, grammar, varied vocabulary, spelling, punctuation, style, voice, etc.)
2. Conveys relevant, clear, concise concepts at grade/age appropriate level
3. Strong editing and proofreading skills
